I hate to break it to those of you dealing with a child or loved
one who has a substance abuse problem, but the recovery is worse.
The mood swings will be more severe and more violent. The
outburst more irrational. The damage to the family far worse.
But this is where you have to dig in and show them you love them the
most. And be patient.
This is a normal part of the recovery process so don’t worry to
much when it happens. And definitely don’t lose your temper
and throw them out or insult the addict. Let me explain what is
going on with the body and their mind.

I Need Help Getting My Child Off Drugs
So you probably came across this post, at your wits end. You
just had a huge fight with your drug addicted son or daughter and
they put a hole in a door in your house, they yelled and scream
irrationally and you are worried about them. You pray for them
to go to jail for fear they will die if they stay on the street.
You don't know what to do, you offer help and that only enrages
them. You are at a complete loss.
